Field Trips and Other Activities

We offer regular field trips throughout the year.

We’ll be announcing the next field trip shortly.  Right now we are focused on our annual Gardens By The Sea garden tour.  Trips being considered are the UC Santa Cruz Botanical Gardens and Annie’s Annuals in Richmond.

Other activities and PGC related items include:

Earth Day:

A booth is set up for this event held in April each year at Linda Mar State Beach to give information about PGC. Also, members help with an activity that day for children that is planting vegetable seeds in small cups that they take home. Earth Day 2013 is Saturday, April 20th. Look for our booth!

Fog Fest:

PGC has participated in the Pacifica Fog Fest held each September.  Several members walk in the parade held on a Saturday morning.  This fun event helps to promote awareness of our club in the community.

New Member Tea:

A past president of PGC hosted a tea at her home to get acquainted with our new members. It was a relaxing afternoon of conversation and sharing interests.

Penny Pines:

A donation is collected each month (small change given by club members) to help with restoration of various forests in California.

Sanchez Art Center:

The club helps maintain the fuchsia garden planted adjacent to the Mildred Owens Concert Hall. This flower garden was planted a few years ago and is flourishing. The fuchsia is the flower of Pacifica and does well in our foggy, cool climate.

10th Anniversary of PGC:

In 2006, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of PGC, the members took a bus trip to Sonoma/Napa and visited a nursery in Fremont, as well as the gardens at Kendall-Jackson Winery (with some wine tasting) and the gardens and art exhibits at Cornerstone Winery. We look forward to a special event in 2016 for our 20th anniversary!
